All,

I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe during this tough time for our city and country.  I wanted to address the current state of our business, as I know there have been some questions and probably rumors circulating.

As I’m sure all of you probably know by now, the Kansas City Metro area will go under a “Stay at Home” order starting this Tuesday, March 24th.  This order basically mandates that everyone stay at home, except for Essential Activities.  The good news in all of this is that Construction/Infrastructure is considered an Essential Business.  At this present time, we do not believe our season is in jeopardy and our operations will pretty much be “business as normal”.  Our management and leadership team will continue to monitor all developments around COVID-19 and any potential further impacts it might have on our business.  We will communicate any potential changes as soon as we are aware of them.

We are asking all truckers and carriers to abide by the following:

If someone is sick, has been exposed to the virus, or likely could have been exposed, they should stay home and not come to work.Adhere to Social Distancing Requirement of staying 6 feet away from other people. Stay in your truck during the longevity of your shift as much as possible.  We do not need drivers congregating at the plant or at the job-site.Wash hands, tools and equipment frequently.  Your units might be shared by different drivers so it is important to keep those units clean at all times. Please do not engage in rumor starting or spreading.  It’s just not helpful, especially in a time like now.

We understand that you and your drivers all have unique circumstances.  We will work with each of you to honor these unique circumstances so that our working conditions are safe for all.  I’d ask you and your drivers to stay informed on all CDC and local guidelines.

We are quickly approaching the start of the season.  As we fight rain and weather, I’m asking you all to be patient with us as we work to fire up our crews and plants.  As I communicated in person, we expect to have a busy, productive season.  The work will be there, it’s just a matter of everything falling into place with weather, crews, plants and jobs.  Please know that we are just as ready to get out there as you all are!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or ask.  Thanks and stay safe!
